About Us

In 1980, a small group of dedicated individuals recognized the need to provide personal, compassionate care for the terminally ill in Southwest Washington. They set out to raise the money necessary to make a hospice program a reality. In only a few years, their dream came true with the opening of Hospice Southwest.

Friends of Hospice Southwest Washington, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit volunteer corporation, has worked for over twenty-three years to supplement the financial resources of our local hospice programs. Today, with the help of many volunteers and donors, Friends of Hospice Southwest Washington continues its fundraising efforts, and Hospice Southwest and the Ray Hickey Hospice House continue to provide the best of medical and compassionate care for the terminally ill. The hospice teams are dedicated to easing the fear, anxieties and discomforts of patients and their families who are suffering through the advanced stages of illness. The Friends of Hospice Southwest Washington organization is dedicated to helping them accomplish this.

Friends of Hospice Southwest Washington hosts a variety of annual fundraising activities including our Fall Luncheon and Holiday Poinsettia Sale.
